Good Nutrition, Basic Foundation For healthy Happy Pets
Pets need a diet that provides the best nutrition for their continued good health. And a healthy pet is a happy pet and ultimately a happy pet owner too!
An imbalanced diet is often at the root of many pet ailments and illnesses such as diarrhea, constipation and longer term problems such as arthritis and liver cancer. Yet it is something that is so easy to address and useful to get right from the start simply by knowing how to choose the right food and this will maybe even help you save on veterinary bills down the line.
For example did you know that cat’s shouldn’t drink cow’s milk? If you want your cat to have milk then there are specially prepared cat milk products available that are much kinder to your cat’s stomach. Also many commercially prepared pet foods come from doubtful sources. They often contain processed and low quality overcooked meats from animals injected with growth hormones and antibiotics.
Over time this may give rise to serious health problems in your pet. Natural pet foods are a much safer alternative and, just as with humans, holistic medicine is preferable to synthetic, chemically prepared drugs.
Just as we do for ourselves, make it a priority to take care of your pet’s skin. It is important to keep your pet’s skin in good condition, particularly as a protection against any harmful bacteria or viruses that might otherwise cause problems for your pet. Clean and well nourished skin acts as a protective barrier against parasites too such as ticks, mites and fleas. A good way to take care of your pet’s skin is to feed your pet with foods or provide them with supplements that contain omega 3 fish oil, multivitamins and zinc.
This will also produce a lovely shiny coat and reduce the shedding or moulting of hair so your home will stay cleaner longer and your pet will suffer less from fur ball and teeth and gum problems.
